Firefighters were today called to Suffolk police headquarters in Martlesham after an automatic fire alarm was activated.

A fire crew from Ipswich East attended the scene after the alarm was set off at about 2.45pm.

It is thought the building was evacuated while firefighters establish whether or not the alarm was activated by a fire.

It turned out to be a false alarm and firefighters returned to base.

Snow could fall in parts of Suffolk this morning as temperatures dropped overnight.
