Sheehan and Peskett react to Ipswich Town Women win

Town ran out 2-0 winners in a game that the Tractor Girls dominated the game, and legend Natasha Thomas scored her 150th goal for Ipswich Town.

Sheehan said: "It was a really bright start. They hadn't set up as we thought they might but we quickly adapted to what they were playing.

"From then we were really dominant, we had numerous chances, some really clear cut that we should have put away in the first half.

"Fortunately that didn't come back to bite us and we were able to comfortably see out the game in the end."

Town winger Sophie Peskett said: "Everyone on the pitch had a solid game today.

"We worked really hard for each other and it was a good performance all round.

"We played pretty football, but we also played with some grit and we wanted to show that."

Town legend Natasha Thomas scored her 150th goal in blue and white to get Town started.

On this achievement, Sheehan said: "I am delighted for her.

"150 goals for the club is terrific.

"She had to bide her time a little bit in this game because she had two centre back's around her for the majority of the game.

"Sophie (Peskett) made a great run and a really good pick out on the edge of the box to find her, and she took a great touch before finishing it."

Peskett added: "We were joking before the game about her scoring her 150th.

"I basically said you better score it and she said you better set me up for it so it was written in the stars.

"I am so happy for her, she really deserves it and it was a great finish from her."

Arsenal loanee Ruby Doe sealed the three points for Ipswich Town as she beat the keeper high up the pitch to the ball before finishing into an empty net.

Sheehan said: "We had to defend a few set pieces towards the end.

"During injury time they were chucking bodies forward and we defended a free kick really well, their keeper was on the halfway line and Ruby charged it down brilliantly and it was a good finish."

Peskett, who was recently named as Supporters player of the season, said she was "grateful" for the award.

"Coming back from a big injury last year was a lot harder than I expected.

"It took a long time for me to get back into the flow.

"This season I just said I wanted to enjoy my football again, and that's exactly what I have done and I am so happy that I have found that confidence.

"I am so grateful.

"I have to thank my teammates and coaches for this too, Joe (Sheehan) has allowed me to play freely this year and that's helped massively."
