SHAKHTAR Donetsk have completed the signing of Eduardo from Arsenal for a reported 6million.

The Brazilian-born Croatian has agreed a four-year deal with the big sepnding Ukranian club, bringing to an end his ill-fated spell at the London club.

“FC Shakhtar have signed Eduardo Da Silva from Arsenal. All the details have been agreed at Donbas Arena in Donetsk,” read a statement on the official Shakhtar Donetsk website.

His most poignant memory of English football would be the horrific broken leg and dislocated ankle he suffered at Birmingham in February 2008, leaving the Croatian international out of the game for a year, before returning in February 2009.

Shakhtar’s Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu said: “We wanted to buy Eduardo before he moved to Arsenal. Yes, he had a serious injury, we are aware of the risk, but at the same time we realise he can give a lot to Shakhtar. We expect a lot from Eduardo.”
