JOHN RIGBY BRIGADIER J R Rigby Died peacefully at Laxfield House Care Home in Brent Eleigh on 31st August aged 96. Beloved husband of Tissa for 66 years, father of Simon, Juliet and Charlie, plus 9 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. After school in Winchester College, John served in the Royal Artillery from 1944 to 1980. He served in the Second World War, Palestine, Germany, Norway, Borneo, Hong Kong, the Outer Hebrides and in the MOD in London. For the past 42 years he lived first in Long Melford followed by Milden and during this period helped organisations such as The Red Cross, The Friends of Long Melford Church and many others. A life well lived. The funeral will be at St. Peter's Church, Milden, IP7 7AG at 12.30 p.m. on Monday 19th September. Colourful clothing preferred, no flowers please. Donations, if desired, to the Royal Artillery Charitable Fund or St Peter's Church.
