A TEENAGER who posted footage of himself on the internet driving at 120mph on a Suffolk road has been given a suspended jail sentence - described today as a landmark case.

Danny Hyde, 18, of Swallow Drive, Stowmarket, had pleaded guilty at the end of January to dangerous driving on the A14.

He was arrested after a member of the public emailed the video anonymously to the police after seeing it on YouTube.

Ipswich magistrates today issued him with a four month custodial sentence suspended for 18 months and disqualified the teenager from driving for 18 months.

He was also given 210 hours of unpaid work in the community and ordered to pay costs of £60.
