Flynn Downes has left Town to join Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.
The midfielder has signed a four-year deal at Liberty Stadium.
Downes progressed through the Club’s academy, making his first-team debut in the opening game of the 2017/18 season, a 1-0 win over Birmingham.
The 22-year-old went on to make a further 98 appearances for Town.
Although the fee is undisclosed, the EADT understands it is close to £1.5m, with the potential to climb above £2m with add-ons.
"I am buzzing to be here," Downes told the Swansea City website.
He is new Swansea head coach Russell Martin's second signing, following the arrival of former Bristol City midfielder Jamie Paterson.
"It's a massive club and I cannot wait to get going," he added.
"I spoke to the gaffer, and I just liked the way he came across, the players they have got and it all just added up for me.
"The style of play massively appeals to me, I played against the gaffer's side with Ipswich last year and I think we only touched the ball about four times during the entire game.
"So, when this came up, and I knew he was going to be here it was a dream move.
"The way he wants to play football appeals to me massively."
Matt Gill, who is an assistant to Martin, will be familiar with Downes, having previously been part of the coaching staff at Ipswich.
Downes was Town's Young Player of the Year in 2017/18 and he has won caps at both England U19 and U20 levels.
A tenacious hard-tackling midfielder, he was popular with Blues fans, although injury restricted the amount of games he played for the Suffolk club.
He went out on loan to Luton Town in 2018, where he made 10 appearances, as the Hatters won promotion to League One.
