A FORMER lifeboat caused traffic delays in Essex when the trailer it was being carried on tipped over on a busy road.
The accident happened when the trailer and the range rover pulling it jack-knifed on the Kelvedon bypass of the southbound A12 shortly before 1pm, completely blocking both lanes.
Three fire crews - from Witham, Kelvedon and Coggeshall went to the scene of the crash where they helped police right the boat and move it from the carriageway.
