A SERIAL escaper who was on the run from a Suffolk jail has been recaptured.
David Christopher Aves, 50, was on temporary release licence from Hollesley Bay Prison, near Woodbridge, but failed to return to the jail as instructed in September.
Aves was detained by police near Thetford this morning, said a police spokesman.
The inmate, serving a two year term for deception, was granted temporary home leave on Monday, September 8 to stay with a relative near Bury St Edmunds. He was due back at the prison at 3.30pm on Friday, September 12 but did not return.
The police spokesman said Aves, who once managed to get out of Norwich Prison by sending a fax from inside, is currently being returned to the east Suffolk prison.
