A FIRE has broken out in a Tudor manor house near Woodbridge.
One elderly resident at Newbourne Hall, in Mill Road, Newbourne, was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation after the blaze broke out in the lounge area just after 6.30pm.
The ground floor and first floor are said to be heavily smoked logged.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue described it as a “deep seated fire in the rafters”.
Some areas of the hall date back to the 14th Century and it was once owned by Cardinal Wolsey.
More details to follow.
