IPSWICH is set to experience a Total Eclipse of the Heart when Welsh superstar Bonnie Tyler brings her unique style to the town's Regent Theatre.

IPSWICH is set to experience a Total Eclipse of the Heart when Welsh superstar Bonnie Tyler brings her unique style to the town's Regent Theatre.

The singer, famous for her distinctive rasping voice and hits also include Lost in France and Holding Out For a Hero, will play the Regent theatre on March 29 2009.

Theatre manager David Mansfield said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Bonnie Tyler to the theatre. She is a legend of pop and a fantastically talented performer.

“For more than three decades she has been at the top of her game and her impressive back catalogue of hits is testament to her enduring popularity and unique singing gift.

“Her date at the Regent is a great addition to our spring 2009 programme.”

Bonnie Tyler released her first album in 1977 entitled The World Starts Tonight. Her other hits include Faster than the Speed of Night and It's A Heartache.

In a separate development theatre bosses announced X Factor finalists Same Difference are also due to perform at the venue.

The duo will play the venue on April 6 2009.

A spokesman for the act said: “Laden with uplifting hooks and feel good harmonies, 23 year old Sean and 19 year old Sarah prove they have certainly graduated the school of reality TV with distinction, and are destined for pop royalty.”
