A POWER cut has hit homes in Stowmarket today leaving thousands without electricity.
At just after 11.30am today 2,663 homes in the area were left without power after a fault affecting EDF Energy's high voltage underground electricity network.
Shortly before 1pm 432 customers had been reconnected, and a further 1,607 had their power back before 2pm.
Currently 624 homes in the area are still without power.
A spokeswoman for EDF Energy said: “Work is continuing to restore the remaining supplies as soon as possible.
“We do understand how much inconvenience any interruption to power can cause and apologise to all those affected.”
