A MAN has been charged with concealing criminal property following a major police operation at a Suffolk scrapyard.

Robert McGivern, 38, from Bridge End Road in Red Lodge, was charged by police this evening.

He is being held in police custody overnight and will appear at Sudbury Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.

Police raided the Ponderosa yard in Bridge End Road, Red Lodge, near Mildenhall, on Monday.

As a result of the raid, three cars, one van and an oil dowser have been seized.

A 33-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds, a 30-year-old man of no fixed address and a 21-year-old from Bury - all of whom were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods - have been released on police bail until November 20.

A 22-year-old man from Cambridgeshire was arrested near the site during the day for driving without a licence. He was released on police bail to return to Bury St Edmunds police station on November 18.

A 38-year-old man from Newmarket was reported for driving without a licence. The case will be passed to the criminal justice unit to decide how to proceed.
