TRAIN services through the Channel Tunnel were suspended today following a fire on the French side of the tunnel.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it had sent appliances to deal with the incident, which was reported at just before 1pm.
No one was hurt in the blaze in the freight train and the fire is now under control.
