Residents living around RAF Lakenheath are being warned to expect night flying as F-15C Eagle and F-15E Strike Eagle crews take part in essential training.
After a break of several months, the fighters from the base's 48th Fighter Wing will return to night flying operations next week. A base spokesman said: “These essential training missions will generally end by 11 pm, Monday through Thursday and will continue until the spring.
“Aircrews flying the wing's F-15C Eagles and F-15E Strike Eagles are required to train for day and night operations and during all weather conditions to remain proficient for operations worldwide. The night-flying training provides aircrews the opportunity to train and maintain proficiency using night-vision equipment and procedures.”
