A MAN was rescued by firefighters from a burning flat in Ipswich tonight.
The drama unfolded on Duke Street at 5.42pm when flames broke out in a second floor flat.
A man was left trapped inside the property, which was above Tesco Express.
Three engines from the town attended the scene to discover a fire had broken out in the kitchen of the flat.
Firefighters wearing protective clothing and masks carried the man free from the building and extinguished the fire by 6.11pm.
