A LIGHTNING strike in the Needham Market area caused train delays of up to 50 minutes.
Customers on National Express East Anglia mainline services to London were held up for just under an hour yesterday evening due to signalling problems, caused by a lightning strike.
Services between London Liverpool Street, Chelmsford, Marks Tey, Ipswich, Stowmarket and Peterborough area were disrupted following the incident at 5pm.
Normal services were resumed by 6pm.
