MAGISTRATES last night agreed to extend the custody time limit of a man arrested on suspicion of rape and abduction.
The arrest followed an incident in Brandon on June 14 in which a 21-year-old woman was allegedly abducted from the Tesco car park at knife point, driven 20 minutes away to a remote area and raped.
The man arrested, aged 58 and from Norwich, is in custody at Bury St Edmunds police station. The custody extension expires at 1pm today.
