Henrietta Lewis was at Asda in Ipswich on Thursday to promote Big Dance Goes East, which is happening today
She was demonstrating the art of Egyptian belly dancing with music and an array of scarves for anyone wanting to take a break from picking up their groceries.
Assis Carreiro, artistic director and chief executive of DanceEast, said: “Our thanks go to Asda for allowing us to promote Big Dance in their store and for their recognition of DanceEast's work in the community.
“We hope the event will open doors to new audiences to find out more about our work. Big Dance Goes East will see a packed day of dance classes and performances, with something for everyone and no experience is required.”
Big Dance Goes East is being held at Ipswich town hall tomorrow from midday with a range of classes featuring freestyle, hip-hop, disco, ballet, musical theatre, Latin, ballroom, swing and jitterbug.
Other workshops are available in Zimbabwean dance, Egyptian belly dancing, Cuban salsa and flamenco.
Big Dance Goes East is funded by Arts Council England East and forms part of this year's Ip-art festival.
