Police and ambulance crews were first called to Wherstead Road after a car collided with a bin man at about 7.22am.
The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment to shoulder injuries.
Then at 7.50am police, ambulance and fire crews were called to Sandyhill Lane at the junction with Landseer Road after two vehicles collided.
