FIREFIGHTERS were called to three separate fires on a heath in Ipswich tonight.
A police officer came across the fires on Rushmere Heath at 7.15pm and the fire brigade was called to extinguish them.
The incidents involved an area of approximately 100 sq metres of heathland, covering two fires and eight metres of undergrowth attended by a separate crew.
A police spokesman said the fires had been confirmed as suspicious and were now under investigation. Anyone who can help with information is asked to call 01473 613500.
