MELTON St Audry's manager Simon Fryatt today laid out his stall.

Now in his fifth season in charge of league leaders Saints, Fryatt said: “We want to dominate the Metaltec SIL for the next three or four years.

“Grundisburgh have done it, and now we would like to do it.”

But Fryatt also admitted that he would like to manage a Ridgeons League club. A star for many years up front for Woodbridge Town in his playing days, Fryatt said: “Yes, I would like a stab managing in the Ridgeons League.

“Whether this will be with St Audry's is doubtful - certainly over the next few years. The ground is okay, but unless a forward thinker comes in I cannot see the club having the finance.”

St Audry's, who play Capel Plough (kick-off 2pm) in the quarter-finals of the Omnico Cup tomorrow, have yet to win the SIL title with third the highest Fryatt has taken them to.

He discounts Capel Plough from the title run-in in the Senior Division saying: “They are a very capable side who have enjoyed a cracking run.

“But their defeat last Saturday has seen the gap increase between them and the top three. Personally I think the championship will be won by Grundisburgh, Brantham or ourselves.”

Fryatt is expecting a tough game tomorrow. “We will be after revenge,” he added.

“They beat us 2-1 in the league a couple of weeks ago, and we will have to be at our best.

“As holders we want to go on and retain the trophy.”

Striker Gavin Vince and Adam Oxborrow are both suspended for tomorrow's match, but 37-goal Julian Beaumont will be in attack.

“Julian pays a £3 match fee every game like the rest of the team,” said Fryatt. “We set him a target of 40, but it looks as though this will have to be increased to 50.

“He said at the start of the season that this would his last, but we are hoping he will change his mind.”

Following the removal from the competition of Brantham and Crane Sports for fielding ineligible players, the other three ties feature junior sides.

Grundisburgh and Coplestonians will be fancied to beat Bacton and Thurston respectively, while First Division high-fliers Woodbridge Athletic are capable of giving Leiston St Margarets a tough game.

In the league, Brantham can go level with St Audry's at the top with three points against East Bergholt.

Haughley have been relegated after their 8-0 drubbing at Melton St Audry's last Saturday.

Failure to beat Bramford tomorrow will confirm Bildeston's relegation from Division 1 after just one season at that level.

Congratulations to Craig Catchpole and his Woolverstone United squad who gained their third successive promotion when they confirmed moving up from Division Four last weekend.
