IPSWICH Town go into tomorrow night's home game with Sheffield United with key defender David Wright today aiming to prey on the insecurity of others.

After Saturday's 1-1 draw against Southampton, Town clawed their way back into the play-off positions of the Coca-Cola Championship on goal difference and are now in sixth place.

Wright said: “We have the chance - and the ability - to rattle the clubs regarded as favourites for a move up to the Premier League.

“They will be looking over their shoulders, and we must make use of that.

“It might be only by the smallest of margins, but we are back where we want to be.

“Now we must hold on to it for the rest of the season - for our final 11 crucial games starting with the tough game against Sheffield United.”

David Norris repaid the first instalment of his £2million price tag with a fine equalising goal at St Mary's after Stern John had given the Saints the lead.

After a dreary opening period, Norris' goal opened up the match and the Blues had enough chances to have collected three points.

“We could have nicked it,” added Wright, who replaced Alex Bruce in the back four after sitting out the previous three matches.

“The game opened up massively in the second period and although Southampton had chances I thought we had the better ones.

“The table does not lie, and we must do enough in the run-in to earn a top-six finish.

Wright admits that is more to come from within the Ipswich camp.

He added: “The manager stresses how much quality he has in the dressing room. He has a strong belief in us. It is up to us to show the same belief.

“If we can then this club could be in for something special over the next couple of months or so.

“With Richard Naylor doing well since his return we now have a solid platform at the back with him and Jason De Vos.

“We are more solid, and last season, and possibly at times earlier this season, we would not have come back from a goal down.”

Midfielder Alan Quinn missed the trip to the south coast because of his ankle problem, but he could face his former club tomorrow night.

Norris took a blow to his ribs and is suffering from a painful blister on his foot, but he should also be available for the visit of the Blades.
