A POWER cut affected 393 homes in Essex yesterday.
EDF Energy said a fault on a high voltage power network at about 2.50pm resulted in the problems around Great Totham, near Maldon.
Engineers were working at the site and by 6.45pm 236 homes were back with power. At the time of going to press, 157 homes were still without power.
Ian Barratt, a resident in Great Totham, said: “It is causing a lot of disruption. My neighbour lost three hours work on the computer and I cannot do any work. This is an area which has many elderly people who will have been affected all afternoon.”
A spokesman for EDF Energy said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience to our customers.”
