JIM Magilton felt the draw was about right, but Stoke boss Tony Pulis insisted they could have snatched all three points if they had been awarded the penalty he claims they deserved.

Magilton said: “Overall it was probably a fair result. We started the game very well for 20 minutes, we were excellent and scored a terrific goal from probably our most dangerous player.

“Everything was rosy, but we just waited for something to happen.

“Stoke are not a force in the Championship for nothing. They are there because they have that grit and determination to get a result.

“Ricardo Fuller is in a rich vein of form and took his goal very well, although defensively it was very poor.

“Danny switched off and allowed the runner through although it was a great finish.”

Magilton was grateful to keeper Neil Alexander who made a terrific save at the feet of Fuller.

Magilton said: “We had opportunities in the second half but didn't take them and the best chance fell to them from our set piece and we were caught napping. Ricardo has burst clear and our keeper makes a great save.

“There were a few nervy moments after that but it is a point and we move on.”

Pulis accepted the draw, but felt his side should have had a penalty when Neil Alexander clattered into Jon Parkin as he tried to reach a Liam Lawrence cross.

Pulis said: “We came and gave it a go and Ipswich know they have been in a game. With a bit of luck we could have come away with all three points because we should have had a penalty.

“He took his legs completely, it is embarrassing.”
