THE mother of murdered Essex schoolgirl Danielle Jones has spoken of the anger, loss and pain caused by her daughter's death.

Linda Jones said she wanted to "rip the heart out" of Maldon-born Stuart Campbell, Danielle's uncle, who was convicted of her murder last month.

In a video diary to be broadcast on BBC1 tonight, Mrs Jones also told how the killing led to clashes with her husband Tony, whose sister Debbie is married to Campbell, and the severe effect it has had on Danielle's brothers Mitchell, 12, and Ryan, 14.

Fifteen-year-old Danielle vanished while walking to catch a school bus near her home in East Tilbury on June 18 2001.

The diary was recorded over the months leading up to the trial of 44-year-old Campbell. Danielle's body has never been found and Campbell, a builder, has refused to help police since he was sentenced to life on December 19 last year.

"It just makes me sick,' Mrs Jones said on the film. "The thought of what he's put us through, what he's put the boys through.

"I just want to walk over and rip his heart out.'

The routine of everyday life constantly reminds her of the daughter she lost, she said.

"Even if it's just to say to her, 'Can you tidy your room'. I haven't got to say that any more.

"Some days I deal with it, some days I don't. It's just eating away at me all the time.'

Speaking of her husband Tony, Campbell's brother-in-law, Mrs Jones said: "I know it's not his fault but it's caused resentment because it's his family that's caused this.'

She also revealed how their sister's murder has left Danielle's brothers "devastated'.

The 42-year-old spoke of the discoveries of the bodies of 13-year-old schoolgirl Milly Dowler, who was found last September, and 10-year-old classmates Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, found the month before.

No one has been charged with Milly's killing. School caretaker Ian Huntley, 28, has been charged with the murders of Holly and Jessica.

Mrs Jones said: "I am envious in some ways. I was envious when Holly and Jessica were found.

"If you were to give me the option of having my day in court or having her back 1/8her body 3/8 I think I'd have her back.'

She concluded the video diary by appealing to other families to confront relatives they fear might be developing an inappropriate relationship with a child.

If it turns out to be a groundless fear then the worst that can happen is an argument, she said.

"If it turns out to be something, for God's sake, don't let yourself be sitting here where I am.

"You can get over an argument, you can't get over this.'

Missing Danielle will be shown on BBC1 at 10.35pm tonight.
