A Sudbury woman accused of pocketing donation money for a bench after buying one for considerably less than was raised will face a trial in the new year.
Shannon Goodyear, 21, pleaded not guilty to fraud by false representation and theft on August 20 this year and will now face a trial before magistrates in Ipswich on February 8.
Appearing at Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, Goodyear, of Warner Place, Sudbury, spoke only to confirm her personal details at the short hearing.
It is alleged that Goodyear committed fraud between November 21, 2018, and September 10, 2019, by receiving donations under false pretences, and she is accused of stealing money to the value of £798.
Goodyear, who was represented in court by solicitor Peter Spary, was released on unconditional bail ahead of her trial, which will take place on February 8 at 10am.
