The trial of six people charged with the murder of Ipswich teenager Tavis Spencer-Aitkens could be delayed if a judge agrees to allow barristers in the case more time to prepare the case.
The trial is due to take place at Ipswich Crown Court on November 26 but today (Monday) Judge Martyn Levett adjourned a hearing to decide if the trial should be put off until next year, until later this month.
Before the court today in person or via a prison video link were: Aristote Yenge, 22, of no fixed address, Adebayo Amusa, 19, of Sovereign Road, Barking, Callum Plaats, 23, of no fixed address, Isaac Calver, 18, of St Helen’s Street, Ipswich, Leon Glasgow, 41, of no fixed address, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named because of his age.
All six defendants have been charged with acting together in the murder of 17-year-old Mr Spencer-Aitkens, of Pownall Road, Ipswich, who died in Packard Avenue, Ipswich, on June 2 after being fatally wounded.
Today Glasgow and Amusa entered not guilty pleas to the murder charge.
The next hearing of the case will take place on September 21.
