A man suffered stab wounds to his torso and leg in what is believed to be a targeted attack in Ipswich.
Police were called just after 9.35pm yesterday, Saturday, September 1, to reports that a man had suffered stab wounds in Sirdar Road.
Police and ambulance staff attended the scene and the man was rushed to Ipswich Hospital.
A police spokesman said his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
He said: “We were called at 9.36pm to reports an adult male had suffered stab wounds in the vicinity of Sirdar Road in Ipswich.
“The male had suffered injuries to his torso and leg.
“He was conveyed to the hospital on Heath Road.
“His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
“Police believe this may have been a targeted incident.”
A police spokesman later added it is believed the assault may have taken place in Bramford Road close to the junction with Sirdar Road.
Councillor Chris Chambers, St Margaret’s and Westgate county councillor, said: “I am shocked by yet another stabbing in Westgate area of Ipswich last night.
“These violent and cowardly attacks have got to stop.
“The people of Ipswich and in the case of last nights incident, Westgate deserve better and should not have to put up with these terrible acts of violence on their streets.”
