The snooker area at Bears Pool & Snooker Club in Ipswich has now opened following the venue relaunch this summer.
Three snooker tables and an additional two English pool tables have been installed in the upstairs area, as well as a seating area.
The construction of the centre table was delayed but is expected to be open on Monday.
Owner Robbie Williams, who used to run the Drum & Monkey pub and the Premier Pool Club, both in Ipswich, took over the former Bears Bowling site in Star Lane and transformed it into Bears Pool & Snooker Club in July.
• World snooker champion Mark Selby was on hand to open the club this summer.
He said: “We are very happy now. It was a shame we couldn’t get the centre table finished off for the weekend, but a lot of people have been up here and it seems to be running well.
“Since Rileys closed (in June 2016) there has been nowhere really to play, and we have had a lot of responses (since we opened) and phone calls every day asking ‘when are you going to be up and running?’.
“This is the first weekend, and we haven’t fully announced it because the centre table got delayed, but people who thought we were going to be open this weekend have turned up.
“With the coverage snooker is getting on the television, it is getting more and more popular. It died off at a stage but now it is picking up again.”
