Five police cars attended Ipswich Railway Station this morning after officers received a tip-off that a wanted man may be in the area.
The vehicles parked up at the station this morning at around 9am with officers on the look out for a man wanted in connection to theft offences in the town.
A police spokeswoman said officers checked the area but the man was not found.
She said: “There was a police presence at Ipswich railway station at around 9am this morning, after officers received information that a man who is wanted in connection with theft offences in the town may have been in the vicinity.
“Officers carried out checks but the man was not located.”
