An Ipswich man who sent sexually explicit pictures of himself to a 13-year-old schoolboy after meeting him through an Xbox Live chat group has been jailed for 24 months.
The teenager’s parents discovered messages of a sexual nature on his phone from Glenn Leach, who had also sent him indecent pictures of himself, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Leach, 25, of Spenser Road, admitted three offences of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, making indecent images of children and possessing an extreme pornographic image. In addition to being jailed he was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and given a sexual harm prevention order.
Police officers found 38 indecent images of children in the most serious level A category, 72 at level B and 23 at level C on Leach’s computer.
The court heard that Leach had global development delay which resulted in him having the mental age of a teenager.
