Ipswich Town fans gathered at Portman Road in July 78’ to have a chance to hold and take pictures of the FA Cup.
It followed the club’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley, thanks to a goal from Roger Osborne.
Hundereds of fans queued up to see the cup, and got the chance to meet their heroes and watch them do training drills and a variety of different warm ups.
Pictures captured on the day show the heroes of the FA Cup winning team doing drills and embracing the fans, including captain Mick Mills, John Wark, Eric Gates, Clive Woods, Arnold Muhren, Russell Osman and more.
This year’s official open day is next Thursday, July 27, at the Portman Road stadium.
Gates will open at 9.30am with the first-team squad and coaching staff taking part in a signing session before the players train on the main pitch.
As usual, there will be lots of fun activities for all the family. More than 4,000 people attend the event last year.
