More than 90 new jobs have been created for people in Ipswich by the new B&M store opening at Anglia Retail Park, bosses have said.

Volunteers from Lighthouse Women’s Aid will cut the ribbon at the shop when it officially opens its doors on Friday, alongside deputy mayor Roger Fern.

New employees were asked to nominate a charity they think deserves to be given some VIP treatment for the work they carry out in the community.

The team also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part in the opening ceremony.

Store manager Ashley Wheelhouse said: “The team from Lighthouse really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

He added: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day.”

B&M opens at 9am on Friday - see our homepage on the day for photos and videos from the event.
