Suffolk Seniors cricket handed over a cheque for £250 to Simon Aalders, Director, in support of the valuable work undertaken by Recovery Hub in Ipswich.
Recovery Hub, which is supported by East of England Co-op, is an innovative treatment centre for anyone experiencing problems with addiction.
Every year Suffolk Seniors raise money for a selected charity mainly through a system of fines charged to players for a variety of “offences” on match days. These can be anything from not wearing regulation Suffolk Seniors kit to arriving late or to having deep pockets and short arms when in the bar afterwards. The fines accrued are passed on to the chosen charity for the year.
Mr Aalders said “The Recovery Hub Ipswich team, and residents are very grateful for the kind donation made by Suffolk Seniors cricket. We will use the donation to start work on a therapeutic garden with two counselling rooms.”
