Police and paramedics were called to an Ipswich railway station this afternoon over fears a man might be about to harm himself.
The incident occurred at around 2.15pm at Derby Road station.
Cathleen Cowie, a spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary, said police were contacted by someone who was concerned for a male at the station.
It is understood when the emergency services arrived the man was prone on the platform.
After being attended to by a paramedic he was taken home in an ambulance.
A spokeswoman for the British Transport Police also confirmed the report it received was a fear for welfare incident.
The BTP spokeswoman said: “We were called at 2.13pm to reports that a man was on the platform and there were concerns for his welfare.”
The incident occurred eight days after a man died on the railway line near Derby Road.
Emergency services were called to the tragedy near a bridge in the A1156/Felixstowe Road area, between the Derby Road and Trimley railway stations, at around 4.50am on May 4.
