Bosses at the Suffolk Food Hall hope to set a new world record today for the most people eating a sausage roll in the same place at the same time.
They are appealing for people to visit the venue in Wherstead, just outside of Ipswich, to help them make sausage roll history at 1pm.
The world record attempt forms part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Suffolk Food Hall.
A spokesman said: “The sausage roll has been handmade by the Suffolk Food Hall since its first day, so is a fitting part of the celebrations and something all can enjoy for free outside in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the River Orwell.”
Nine other events will be taking place at the venue on the week starting May 1, including free 10-minute ‘cake-overs’ for customers.
Oliver Paul, one of the founders, said: “We have achieved a huge amount for the business, our customers and for local food.”
