Firefighters tackled a kitchen fire at Walsingham Court, a sheltered accommodation for older people, in Ipswich last night.
Three fire engines were called to the incident in Winchester Way, near Stoke Park Drive, shortly after 9.30pm last night.
There were no injuries or anyone affected by the small fire, a member of staff at the sheltered accommodation told this newspaper this morning.
The fire had been put out and brought under control by 10.30pm.
A spokesman for the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “On scene, (firefighters) used one hose reel and one water fog on a fire in the first floor kitchen.
“Watch Commander Patterson advised of the stop at 10.29.”
The sheltered accommodation is run by Orbit Housing Assoication. There are 44 flats or bungalows in total.
This morning, a member of staff suggested the fire was not serious and said that all residents remained in their accommodation during the incident. The manager was not available today.
