Five people have been arrested over a Class A drug seizure after police stopped a car in east Ipswich.

One of the occupants of the vehicle is said to have left the scene and was subsequently detained after being found by a police dog.

The 24-year-old driver, who is from Ipswich, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs following the stop in Henslow Road at around 9.30pm on Friday.

Police said a 20-year-old was located by a dog and held of suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

Three others, including two teenagers and another 20-year-old who are all from the Ipswich area, were also arrested in connection with the drugs’ find.

After being questioned at Martlesham police investigation centre they were all been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

They must returned to the police investigation centre on January 24.
