A man died this morning after being involved in a collision at one of Ipswich’s busiest business parks.
Suffolk Constabulary was called to Latimer Close on Ransomes Europark around 4.40am to reports a man had been found trapped between a lorry and a gate at the entrance of a site there.
Emergency services attended but the man, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Certas Energy confirmed there had been a fatality outside its depot on the business park.
He said: “The incident involved a driver employed by a haulage firm subcontracted to Certas Energy.
“We are working closely with the police and other authorities to identify the cause of this tragic incident.”
A police spokesman said no-one else was thought to be involved in the incident.
The Health & Safety Executive has been informed but the incident is currently being treated as a collision.
A police investigation is underway and an inquest will take place in due course.
Anyone who may have information should call Suffolk Constabulary on 101, quoting CAD 28 of Wednesday, February 17.
