More than 75% of students got involved in politics and voted in their own mock election ahead of today’s national event.
Children at St Alban’s Catholic High School in Ipswich voted on Tuesday for candidates from the Conservatives, Green Party, Labour, Liberal Democrats and UKIP.
Sarah Green, head of sixth form, said: “We have been very impressed with the way in which students have engaged in the political debates and questioned beliefs both in the assemblies and in lessons more widely.” The winner of the mock election was the Greens, followed by Labour, then the Tories.
