Ipswich School has been celebrating the success of it’s production The 39 Steps.

The stage show, adapted by Patrick Barlow from John Buchan’s novel and Alfred Hitchcock’s film, ran for two nights last week.

Ipswich School’s Head of Drama Lindsey Ward, said: “With a cast of just four actors faced with playing hundreds of roles, the audience was certainly astounded by the accents, characters, costume and scene changes and the props, sound effects and lighting which all came together to produce a wonderfully crazy piece of theatre.”

“The cast and crew were thrilled to receive a good luck message from the writer of the play, Patrick Barlow.

“The overriding theme of it was that all involved in the show should have fun.

“I can confirm that this was definitely the case.

“Well done to all those involved in this great production.”

The show was directed, produced and performed by sixth formers students.
