Our first clue was: He was known as ‘Mr Felixstowe’ and he is remembered in a prominent seafront shelter – you won’t find the stone here, but you can enjoy the sea view.

That should have taken you to the new shelter overlooking the sea in the gardens next to Felixstowe Town Hall and to Phil Hadwen, known as Mr Felixstowe.

Former teacher Phil was a much-loved and respected local historian who was co-author of the Felixstowe “postcard” series of books and well-known for his extensive knowledge of the resort, giving talks to groups on aspects of its heritage and guided walks around its Edwardian and Victorian buildings.

He is remembered on a plaque in the shelter.

So here’s clue two:

From Reed Pond walk to where Phil believed the waters led to a Roman Temple, a site still a sacred space.

So far our stones have been found at Martello Park, Felixstowe Ferry, Landguard and in the Spa Gardens.

Families taking part have had great fun scouring the areas – and exploring and learning more about our town.

If you find the stone, please call 01473 324773, and leave your details, including phone number, to claim the £50 prize.

This is the fifth stone in the competition.
