A woman has been rescued from a ditch filled with water after trying to save a dog in Woodbridge.
The fire service were called shortly before 7am today to reports of the incident near Kingston Road, in between Kyson Point and Kingston Fields.
Five fire crews responded - two from Woodbridge and three from Princes Street in Ipswich.
It is understood that the person had become stuck after trying to save a dog from the ditch.
After being rescued, the woman was checked over but is not believed to be injured.
The location of the incident is thought to be next to a footpath near to the River Deben.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an individual who had become stuck in a ditch after trying to rescue their dog.
“Crews were dispatched and found the individual between Kingston Field and Kyson Point in Woodbridge.
“Crews undertook a water rescue to extract both the individual and the dog. Once freed, the individual was assessed by crews at the scene.”
