Wrap up warm and look to the skies for some of the most sparkling bonfire night events in the east.
As the leaves are falling off the trees, the nights are drawing in and everyone's digging out their favourite hat and scarf set, it can only mean one thing: Guy Fawkes Night is almost here. There are a number of different events around Suffolk and north Essex that invite you to ogle at their firework displays and warm up by their bonfires - so we rounded up a selection of our favourites.
Sproughton Bonfire, Fireworks and BBQ

Sproughton Millennium Green, Lower Street, Sproughton
Head down to Sproughton to enjoy a bonfire and firework extravaganza, which takes place every year - rain or shine. There will also be a delicious BBQ on offer, so make sure you visit on an empty stomach.
Bonfire Night at the Sorrel Horse, Shottisham

Featuring a night filled with live music, a BBQ, pizza, an outside bar and of course a bonfire and firework display, The Sorrel Horse is a guaranteed family favourite. This event is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.
Christchurch Park Fireworks

As one of Suffolk's flagship firework events, Christchurch Park always puts on an amazing show, and this year, it features a James Bond theme. There's plenty to keep all ages busy, from novelty light-up toys for kids, thrill rides for teens and warming drinks for adults - not to mention the fireworks, of course.

You'll find spinning lights, face painting and fantastic live music, as well as magnificent fireworks and a roaring bonfire. It's also free entry and families are welcome.

The Ipswich YM Fireworks include a beer festival, gin and a processo bar, as well as indoor laser tag, a BBQ and more! The venue is easy to get to, and will definitely deliver a night to remember.

Not only does Long Melford hold one of Suffolk's biggest and best firework and bonfire displays, but you can also help to make the bonfires a few weeks before, too. This year's event has a 'space' theme, so it's guaranteed to be out of this world!
Felixstowe Firework Spectacular 2019

Back for the 12th year running, the Felixstowe Firework Spectacular promises to be bigger and better than ever before, and will include a Greatest Show finale. Last year the event saw over 5,000 people.
Stonham Barns Fireworks and Halloween Spectacular

Showcasing fireworks supplied by the award-winning Komodo Fireworks, dodgems and delicious food, Stonham Barns throws a must-attend firework event each year. Donations from each ticket will go to St Elizabeth Hospice.
Heveningham Hall Fireworks

Welcoming the Brit-nominated band The Feeling on stage to perform live music, Heveningham Hall will be hosting a firework night to remember. The display will be organised by Full Effect Fireworks and will start between 7-8pm - depending on general traffic.
Colchester Castle Park Fireworks

Colchester is hosting another epic firework display at Castle Park, on Guy Fawkes Night. Tickets cannot be purchased on the gate and are limited to 8,000, so buying in advance is advised.
Stratford St Mary Community Fireworks

Each year a group of volunteers gives their time and talent to organise a firework event for the whole community to enjoy. It is a not-for-profit evening, and surplus revenue is donated to local causes.
The Lindsey Rose

Live music from Spiral Scratch will be playing to get you in the spirit for the fireworks, which will start at 7pm. This event boasts free entry, but kindly asks for donations to the East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity.
BROOMGROVE! at Wivenhoe

Elmstead's Big Bang Fireworks Festival

Rowhedge Firework Display

Back for the third year running, Rowhedge Firework Display delivers a beautiful show while being great value for money. The fireworks will kick off at 6pm, so there's no need to worry about getting the kids home too late.
