A supermarket in Chelmsford has been evacuated and the bomb squad called after a ‘suspicious package’ was found this morning.
Essex Police were called around 10.10am today, Monday, December 17, to reports of a suspicious package at the ASDA store at Chelmer Village.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We have contacted the Ministry of Defence EOD unit and have placed a cordon at the scene as a precaution.
“We have also evacuated the store and car park, please avoid the area while our enquiries continue.”
