A man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and affray following an incident in Bury St Edmunds last night.
Officers were called at 8.40pm yesterday to reports of a disturbance involving four men on Hunter Road near to a parade of shops in the town.
It is reported that one man was punched in the face and another man was hit on the head with a piece of wood.
Both men sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Officers attended and arrested a 34-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and affray.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned by officers.
