A gang of thieves cut a hole in the back of a Suffolk shop before stealing thousands of pounds’ worth of stock.

At least four people are thought to have entered through the hole to access the retail premises in Easlea Road in the Moreton Hall Industrial Estate, Bury St Edmunds, between 10.35-10.50pm on Sunday.

Police believe the hole would have been cut earlier in the evening, as the power tools required to carry out the work would have been too noisy to use at that time of night.

Detectives at Suffolk police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious on the industrial estate between 4.30pm and 10.35pm on Sunday to get in touch.

Calls should be made to West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference 51839/18.

Alternatively people can contact the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
