Budget supermarket chain Aldi has put in amendments to its planning application for a new store opposite Morrisons just off Sproughton Road in Ipswich.
The store was given planning permission by members of Ipswich council’s planning and development committee last year – but has now submitted an application to change the layout of the car park and delivery access to the store.
The new store would be accessed from Europa Way near its junction with Sproughton Road.
The application is expected to be discussed by planners later in the autumn – it now includes space for 121 cars including seven disabled spaces and nine parent and child spaces.
The new store would be the fifth Aldi in the Ipswich area – there are already stores at Meredith Road, Felixstowe Road, and Scrivener Drive and a proposal for a store on Martlesham Heath near Beardsmore Park retail centre.
