A Suffolk town’s inaugural food and drink festival has been declared a “resounding success” after more than 3,500 visitors enjoyed a day of gastronomic celebrations.
The first Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival, held on Sunday, July 1, featured suppliers from across the region, including vegan food, paella and chocolate fountains Other attractions included cookery demonstrations, live music and workshops.
Event organiser Jerry Humphreys said: “Suffolk and East Anglia has so much to offer when it comes to food and drink and we were extremely proud to be able to showcase so many great local producers and ingredients from the local area.
“The event was a great success with many retailers selling out.”
Stowmarket mayor Linda Baxter added: “I was very proud to be a part of the event and hope that we can repeat it in the future. The number of people who supported the event exceeded all our expectations.”
