Two fires which were started within 50ft of one another, in undergrowth near to the Suffolk coast, are being treated as arson.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service attended reports of the first fire in undergrowth at Corton Road, Lowestoft at around 3pm on Tuesday, May 15.
At the time, the blaze was not thought to be suspicious. However, around half an hour later, firefighters were called back to another fire within 50ft of the first incident.
A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said: “Fire officers believe the second fire is unlikely to have been as a result of the original fire.”
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour or has knowledge about this incident is asked to contact Suffolk police on 101, quoting crime number 26535/18. Alternatively, people can call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
